Hi. I got your replacement power supply to and just want to say how refreshing it is to deal with a company that honor's its warranty with zero hassle. The green light had apparently failed but you said it was still working and it was just a defective LED. Using A voltmeter, I confirmed it was still providing around 2 volts to the andode and you were indeed correct.

Thank-you once again for your excellent customer support with no hassle. You even shipped it to me in Canada with no charge for the shipping.

Kevin.

I purchased a second system for a friend of mine. I flush the tank every year as Matt recommended, no issues at all.

I purchased another product on Amazon that had a 20 year warranty, it lasted 2 months and the water turned black.. I pulled it out and put in a lowes aluminum rod. I found this website and purchased the product although skeptical. It works as described, odor free for 2 months with no black specs in my water.

I purchased 2 units for my home in October 2019. Our water is very corrosive in Michigan and I was tired of replacing tanks every 3 years. It took me several weeks to decide on which product to purchase since there are a several makes and brands out there. I decided to email Matt a few questions. He emailed me back within 4 hours! I decided to purchase the water tank tec product. The instructions were easy to understand and both units were installed within 1 hour and working as described. It should be noted that you should flush your tank before installing this product as the instructions state. I had chunks of black crap come out of my heater for 5 minutes before it cleared up and the tank was only 4 months old. Within 1 week one unit failed and I was upset figuring I purchased a snake oil product. I emailed Matt and learned that my GFCI breaker was bad on one of the power supplies I have, not the product. Last week (January 3rd) I went ahead and flushed the tank again just out of curiosity. The water was clear. I am impressed with this system and for the money I feel it was well worth it. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I learned that municipal water tanks last so much longer than domestic water heater tanks because they use Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) rather than sacrificial anode rods. If our water heater had ICCP, I would not have to remove, inspect, and eventually replace the sacrificial anode rod in our expensive Rheem Professional Prestige Hybrid Electric Water heater. I searched for ICCP designed for deomestic water ehaters and found the Water Odor Website. I was impressed by its wealth of information. I became concerned that the constand voltage poer supplies of competing ICCP systems could apply a voltage difference between the anode and tank so large that harmful electrochemical reactions could damage the baked enamel tank coating or so small that tank corrosion would not be prevented. The Water Tank Tec system has an intelligent poer supply that apparently can set the voltage and current based on the tank envioroment, so I ordered one.

After a difficult installation due to the original anode rod being very difficult to remove, the Water Tank Tec system has been working well. Attached is a photo showing the Water Tank Tec system down between the powered anode rod and the tank.

I am recommending the Water Tank Tec system to those concerned about their water heaters rusting out. Water odor is not a probem here. Matt, thanks for making the Water Tank Tec system available and supporting it so well!

Our company replaces over 300 water tanks per month. I buy from Water Tank Tec on a monthly basis. Our data base shows that since 2011, not one of our customers tanks have failed using this product. Last month Matt replaced a power supply that our customer had damaged. After contacting Matt to purchase a replacement, he sent me a new power supply free of charge and I had it in my hands within 3 days. I have never dealt with this type of quick action before. This is a solid product and a solid company.

I am a master electrician in Texas, I have several rentals in the rural area. I have use these anodes for the past ten years. Foul smell nearly caused our Family to gag. I found the website Water Heater Rescue. Did not want to spend $250.00 on a product therefore started looking for a better alternative. Your price, service and technology tilted me toward you. Removing the factory anode however is a bitch. They put red loctite which is a plastic epoxy. I twisted a 5 inch extension rod in half. The tank is a Rheem (Lowe's) unit. I had to remove several inches of insulation to contend with finding the anode bolt top. Easy instructions, installation, Great product Matt.

Matt – Thank you for the excellent service. When I contacted you and you asked for a picture of the unit I had a concern about, as soon as you saw the picture was your unit you were able to diagnose problem and send me a replacement parts that now have me working again against tank corrosion. My old tank had lasted 3 years before failing and it had a completely eroded anode rod, so on the new tank I checked the anode after a year. It was 2/3 gone which got me to research and find your product. So far it’s keeping my tank in good condition. Write me in a few years and I’m happy to give you an update. As a chemistry teacher I’m quite impressed with the detailed information/explanations on your website and believe that other problems being avoided, corrosion should not be a future problem with the powered anode installed.

The whole system is an iron filter, then softener for 7 (grains or ppm, forgot those units) and 600 ppm hardness. I live in glacial till. Beautiful but some challenging water. Yes, the sulfide odor was present in the hot water supply as well, but miraculously had “gone away”, probably when the anode rod vanished. It came back with the new tank.

Hi Matt,

Here are pictures of the new sensor rod that I bought from you installed in our water heater. We installed the sensor last Monday ( 10-19-20 ) and everything seems to be working just fine. Prior to installing the new sensor our hot water had a faint smell of metal which really bothered my wife. ( no rotten egg smell ). It was really noticeable at the kitchen sink I suppose due to the deep sink concentrating the water odor. Our cold water has never had any odor to it by the way. We had a new five inch well drilled in June of this year just to let you know. The water heater is also new, installed on July 24th of this year. It is an AO Smith 50 gallon natural gas heater that we bought from Lowes. Over and over my wife would tell me "you have got to do something about this water smell". After searching the internet trying to find an answer, I came across your product and ordered it. ( nice website by the way ). A friend and I installed your sensor at noon, and when my wife got home about 5 the same day the smell was gone. Amazing! And believe me if the water would have smelled she would have let me know it. I am still amazed at how well this worked. You have an outstanding product.

Anyway, thanks again for a great product and your honesty on your website. That goes a long way these days! No water smell, happy wife, and happy me now. Hahaha....

Thanks Matt, Pat

Purchased in 2015 for our 2 tanks. 1 power supply LED stoped working in August 2020. The response by the seller was spot on, they sent us a new power supply the next day and it arrived 3 days later. I could not ask for any better service Ron K.

I purchased a country home 3 years ago. The water heater I was told was 2 years old. Maybe 60 days after closing the water heater started leaking from the bottom of the tank. I replaced the unit with a AO smith 40 Unit. The odor for about 3 or 4 months was terrible but subsided about 3 months later. After meeting the neighbors, I learned that they have the same problem with odor and tanks failing. it seems our water table is very acidic. After doing some water odor problems research I stumbled across this product thinking it maybe would help. I pulled the original rod out of the tank and at least 60% of it was gone and the rest of it was coated in a goowy like gray/white slime and stunk to high heaven. I yanked the heater out, purchased another AO smith unit and installed this product from the start. I have had absolutely no problems with odor issues since. I was concerned that something was wrong so I pulled the rod out and it looked brand new. I have no odor from the start and to this day. Great product and so I recommended it to my neighbors who purchased it as well.

Thank You!

I purchased this unit July 18, 2020 and gave it a month before I would consider a review. That month has passed and I am pleased with the product. When the product first arrived and I was installing it, I lost the plastic washer for the anode. Matt was kind enough to send me a replacement the very next day and this product works as the add describes it since my hot water is gone.

Purchased 2 months ago. I was hesitant on it but it seems to work as advertised. I have no hot water odor issues since. The original anode was not that difficult to remove. I would recommend this product. 1 short note, leave the water in the tank when removing the anode. I drained the tank to give it a flush but did not read the instructions that said leave it full. I should have removed the anode then flushed the tank.
