My neighbor told me about this website and product. I wish we had known before. Unfortunately, we and our plumber did not know what was happening to our water heater starting at 4 months old. The water at all the faucets was spurting badly, stunk terribly and when we drained about 5 gallons from the tank every few days, it was very yellowish brown and full of white particles. But the plumber said the white particles were not the dip tube and did not offer to help us put in a new dip tube. The makers of the water heater (A O Smith) were also of no help. We even went to the expense of water testing because we are on well water. By the time we finally found another plumber to put the new electric anode in, the dip tube broke off and all he got was the top nut which was completely corroded. Not knowing what the inside of the tank was like even though all the problems disappeared immediately, we opted to get a new water heater and put the Electric Anode in before it was even installed.
